Safe pumping

Lutz Pumpen GmbH relies on circuit breakers from E-T-A
The Lutz Pumpen company was founded in 1954 by Karl Lutz. Thanks to numerous innovative market breakthroughs the company grew strongly in the following years. In 1963, for example, the first explosion-proof drum pump was introduced to the market. In 1972, another milestone was the development of the first sealless pump unit worldwide.
Today, their product portfolio not only includes drum and container pumps, but unique screw pumps, double diaphragm and centrifugal pumps as well as flow meters. Lutz uses E-T-A’s 3120 circuit breaker/switch combination with rocker actuator as power switch for their drum and container pumps. It works as On/Off switch and protects the pumps against overheating in the event of overcurrent.
Lutz uses the 3120 with additional undervoltage trip elements in pumps for explosive areas or dangerous chemical conveyor pumps. It prevents uncontrolled automatic re-starts after a power failure and ensures safety for the environment and the user.
